Allergens Disclaimer

Last updated: July 3, 2026

At Akoko Athens we want you to eat safely and with confidence. That is why we publish detailed allergen information for our products on ourAllergens page. This disclaimer explains what that information does — and does not — guarantee, so that you can make informed choices. Please read it carefully if you, or someone you are ordering for, has a food allergy or intolerance.

1. Scope

This disclaimer covers the allergen information we publish on our website (akoko.gr) — and in particular on our Allergens page — as well as the food prepared at our restaurant at Solomou 1, Neo Psychiko. No orders or payments take place on our website; you place orders in person at the restaurant or through third-party platforms (efood, Wolt, Box).

2. The information is indicative and per-recipe

The allergen details we provide are indicative and correspond to therecipe of each product — that is, the ingredients we normally use to prepare it. We make every reasonable effort to keep this information accurate and up to date, but it is not medical advice and does not replace your own judgement or the advice of your doctor.

3. Shared kitchen — cross-contamination

Our food is prepared in a shared kitchen, where we handle and store many different ingredients in the same space. Although we follow food hygiene and safety rules, the possibility of cross-contamination cannot be excluded — that is, traces of one allergen may end up in a product that does not normally contain it, through shared surfaces, utensils, frying oil or the air. For this reason we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from a given allergen.

4. Recipes and suppliers may change

Our recipes, ingredients and suppliers may change — due to availability, seasonality or improvements to our products. As a result, the composition of a product and the allergens it contains may differ from what is listed at the time you order. We update our information as soon as possible; however, if you have an allergy, always confirm the details at the time of ordering.

5. Always inform our staff

Before you order, always inform our staff of any allergy or intolerance. This allows us to give you the most current information and to help you choose safely. You can let us know:

  • in the restaurant, by speaking directly with our staff; or
  • through the order notes on the platform you are ordering from (efood, Wolt, Box), where available.

6. Severe allergies — contact us first

If you have a severe allergy or a risk of anaphylaxis, pleasecontact us by phone on 210 671 0023 before you order, so that we can discuss your needs. Because we operate a shared kitchen and cannot exclude cross-contamination, it is ultimately your decision whether a product is suitable for you.

7. The 14 allergen categories (EU Reg. 1169/2011)

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers, our information refers to the following 14 categories of substances or products causing allergies or intolerances:

  1. Cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats, etc.)
  2. Crustaceans and products thereof
  3. Eggs and products thereof
  4. Fish and products thereof

8. Information on third-party platforms

Orders are placed on third-party platforms (efood, Wolt, Box), which operate independently of us and may display their own allergen information. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of the information shown on third-party platforms. In the event of any discrepancy, the information published on our website and, above all, what our staff tell you at the time of ordering shall prevail.
